Rep. Miller: President Making Up Obamacare As He Goes Along

Statement

Date: Feb. 11, 2014
Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Representative Candice Miller (MI-10) issued the following statement regarding the Administration's latest delay of the employer mandate provision in Obamacare:

"Once again, without regard for the constitutional limitations established to protect citizens from an imperial government, President Obama has arbitrarily decided to delay the employer mandate of his healthcare law. This again shows that not only is this law unworkable and hindering needed job creation, but also that this President has little regard for the constitutional obligation he has to faithfully execute the laws.

"The continued bypassing of Congress and the constitutionally-mandated legislative process should be unacceptable to every American. That is why I have co-sponsored the STOP Resolution that would require the House of Representatives to bring legal action in our courts demanding adherence to the law and our Constitution. The President simply has no authority to make it up as he goes along, and these lawless actions must stop.

"President Obama is avoiding the reality of the across-the-board failure of Obamacare, which is already hurting hardworking Americans who have not been given the same exemptions to the law's cumbersome and costly provisions that the President continually offers to big corporations. It is time for the Administration to stop pretending that this law is working and help us repeal and replace it for everyone"
